Course Overview

In this course we cover the general safety principles, alcohol and drug policies, and many items that are prohibited while in the oil and gas production workplace. Personal conduct is also discussed as well as housekeeping and basic principles of land transportation. We also cover manual and power hand tool safety, walking and working surface safety, and how to report accidents and assist in the investigation of workplace accidents.

Module Overview

Recognizing and avoiding the most common hazards is crucial to keeping personnel safe and injury-free. General Worksite Safety covers electrical, mechanical and falling hazards, as well as behavior-based safety. Accident prevention through pre-job planning and work stoppages, along with a workers responsibilities in these situations is included in this module. Site orientations, simultaneous operations, and signs and tags are also covered.
